Bourns Releases New Design Kit and PortNote® Solution Enabling Effective SLIC Protection under 4 kV 10/700 µs Surge Conditions

Riverside, Calif., August 19, 2014 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, today announced a specific new 4 kV ITU-T Subscriber Line Interface Circuit (SLIC) Protection Design Kit and PortNote® Solution. The design kit, PN-DESIGNKIT-47, contains a Bourns® high-surge programmable thyristor (TISP9110MDMR-S) along with ceramic PTC resettable fuses for effective protection of SLICs that must operate under 4 kV 10/700 μs surge conditions. Each kit contains sufficient Bourns® components to prototype five boards. Telecom applications that need overvoltage protection for this type of interface include wireless local loop, access and regenerated POTS equipment as well as VOIP applications.
