Bourns Significantly Expands SinglFuse™ Overcurrent Protection Line

RIVERSIDE, Calif., May 15, 2019 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, today announced the completion of a significant expansion of its SinglFuse™ overcurrent protection product line, adding 33 new model series to the portfolio over the last 18 months. A rising focus on safety across many industries has led to increasing requirements for effective circuit protection. Designed to safety standards and to provide reliable overcurrent protection in sensitive circuitry, the expanded SinglFuse™ portfolio supports a wide range of current and voltage requirements with ratings up to 100 A and 600 V AC. These features meet a broad spectrum of overcurrent protection requirements in applications such as handheld consumer devices, telecom infrastructure and industrial automation equipment, battery management and energy storage systems.

The latest SinglFuse™ products feature a broad variety of fusing speeds and capabilities including fast acting and slow blow, fast acting precision, time lag, high inrush, high current, and high voltage. Offered in standard EIA package footprints from 0402 to 3812, Bourns® new SinglFuse™ devices are drop-in replacements for similar fuse products and can easily fit PCB layouts.

The additional breadth in Bourns® enhanced standard SinglFuse™ product offering enables customers to select an ideal overcurrent protection solution for their design while still meeting aggressive time-to-market schedules. Another advantage from the expanded portfolio is Bourns' ability to rapidly design, develop, and produce custom solutions to meet unique performance specifications. Bourns can now leverage an extensive variety of fuse technologies including ceramic tube wire-in-air, ceramic multilayer, PCB wire core, and PCB and ceramic substrate thin film printing.

"We've substantially strengthened our SinglFuse product line as part of Bourns' strategy to engineer and supply the broadest and most cutting-edge circuit protection devices on the market," said Lee Bourns, Multifuse & SinglFuse Product Line Manager at Bourns, Inc. "Bourns is in a unique position to be able to offer such a comprehensive portfolio of SMD fuses. While many fuse manufacturers only offer one or two fuse technologies with limited customization capabilities, we have developed a large selection of standard products and custom options. This allows design engineers to either select a standard SinglFuse SMD Fuse off-the-shelf, or we can quickly develop one that best satisfies their application requirements."

Bourns' complete line of new UL and TÜV recognized SinglFuse™ products is available now, and the individual models are RoHS compliant* and halogen free**. For detailed product specifications or to access the SinglFuse™ product selection tool, please visit:

**Bourns considers a product to be "halogen free" if (a) the Bromine (Br) content is 900 ppm or less; (b) the Chlorine (Cl) content is 900 ppm or less; and (c) the total Bromine (Br) and Chlorine (Cl) content is 1500 ppm or less.
