Designed with an advanced hybrid MOV + GDT architecture, this new series delivers enhanced reliability and safety protection due to no leakage or follow-on current
RIVERSIDE, Calif., November 28, 2023 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, today announced its new Model 1260 Series Surge Protective Devices (SPDs). These AC hybrid SPDs are designed with an advanced MG (MOV + GDT technology) architecture that delivers enhanced reliability and safety protection due to the architecture's no leakage or follow-on current features. Bourns developed its latest series of hybrid SPDs as an optimum protection solution for electrical service entrances, branch panels, heavy industrial systems, EV charging stations or virtually any power circuit in installations without Lightning Protection Systems (LPS)/lightning rods.
The 1260 Series DIN-Rail pluggable design significantly streamlines installation and replacement, while the high short-circuit current rating of up to 50 kArms and impulse current capacity of up to 25 kA (10/350 μs) helps ensure that equipment is protected up to 100 kA (8/20 µs) per mode. In addition, this new series is compliant with IEC/EN 61643-11 Class I + Class II/T1+T2 standards, providing comprehensive protection for valuable equipment. To help designers satisfy a wide range of surge protection needs while enhancing reliability, Bourns® Model 1260 SPDs are available in multiple volt-ages and mode configurations.
Bourns® Model 1260 Series AC hybrid SPDs are available now and are RoHS* compliant. For detailed product information, please visit: www.bourns.com/products/surge-protective-devices/ac-surge-protective-devices.
