We are seeking a Distribution Sales Account Manager- Americas to be responsible for ensuring Bourns products receive increasing "share of mind" and "internal share" from the Distributor Companies.

This role has the following Accountabilities:

  1. Manages corporate distributor locations:
    • Understands the distributor organization and gives input to Bourns Management.
    • Assesses the training needs of the distributor corporate teams and coordinates with Bourns business units and marketing teams to develop appropriate programs.
    • Contributes to development and implementation of short and long-range plans (Key Initiatives) to successfully achieve Bourns internal share inside distribution.
    • Assesses the customer base of the distributor and develops programs to match Bourns products with market segment programs.
    • Works closely with asset and products management to ensure adequate inventory in support of POS trends and opportunities.
    • Analyzes Bourns into-stock pricing to ensure competitive screen position for Bourns products at branch locations.
    • Manages and implements Volume Purchase Agreement (VPA) and Distribution pricing strategies.
  2. Develops web and promotions plans with distribution such as Bourns Microsites, Product Training Modules, Product Marcom programs, top selling items and inventory profiling to maximize Bourns marketing exposure to e-Commerce customer base.
  3. With support of Vice President Sales Americas, monitors the activities of the Bourns Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and Manufacturer Representative Distributor Sales Managers at the broad line distributor branch locations.
  4. Drives and implements Design Registration Program (DRP) and Capture Rate at distributors.
  5. Drives and manages New Product Introduction (NPI) process at distributors.
  6. Performs Corporate Quarterly Business Review (QBR), with all assigned distributor accounts.
  7. Works with Bourns Product Line Managers, General Managers and Market Directors to ensure that each is engaged with distribution to effectively promote their respective product lines, and drives distribution sales on target market segments.
  8. Prepares and submits monthly report outlining each distributor activity, sales performance, achievements, action plans versus Key Initiatives.
  9. Develops, recommends and implements appropriate Corporate Promotional Programs. Submits MAP requests for approval as required.
  10. Coordinates distribution training and cross-reference collateral for assigned accounts. Monitors Bourns performance to assigned accounts Corporate Recognition Programs.
  11. Develop sales programs to move Bourns products off distributor shelves to the end customer.
  12. Makes recommendations to Vice President Sales Americas regarding changes to the distributor network.
Qualifications Needed:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or Technical Field
  • Must have excellent and effective communication skills, both orally and written.
  • Has the ability to develop strong relationships with various levels of distribution management. Demonstrates leadership, team building skills, and has a collaborative approach to solving problems.
  • Possess strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and is able to multitask and prioritize. Must have a strong work ethic and be culturally sensitive.
  • Minimum 4 years of corporate distribution management, and experience, preferably in the electronics industry.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Distribution preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of time.

We are seeking a Human Resources and Compensation Analyst to make significant contributions by supporting the HR compensation team in developing Bourns HR data analytics and configuring the Company's HRIS systems, databases, and applications.

The Human Resources and Compensation Analyst is responsible to:
  • Data Analytics:
    • Develop, analyze and ensure that HR ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting is accurate and delivered on time. HR reports include those related to recruiting effectiveness, employee turnover and demographics, global accident and incident trends, compensation analyses.

  • Compensation:

    • Support the processing of compensation surveys and develop resources for maintaining timely marketplace information to compile and report on data and other pay or performance-related information.
    • Support the completion of pay studies of exempt and non-exempt positions using a market-pricing evaluation system; document findings, provide recommendations for improvements and maintain records of validity of evaluation results.
    • Maintain and ensure the accurate and timely reporting of pay components and performance data from the HRIS and other systems.
  • HRIS:
    • Partner with Corporate IT and HR leadership in developing reporting systems in SuccessFactors – Employee Central to create and maintain standardized real-time dashboards displaying global key performance metrics and insights for HR and business leaders in a visually appealing manner.
    • Recommend and coordinate enhancements of the HRIS.
    • Provide training on standard reporting to existing and new users of the Bourns HRIS.
    • Develop, communicate and maintain desktop procedures for standard report writing as necessary.
    • Provide project management support for assigned projects.

The Engineering Manager position is a key role in the engineering organization.   • 10 or more years of experience in product design and development and three or more years of management experience required. Automotive products experience, such as, Speed, Position sensors and Controls.

The Sr. Central Lab Technician position plays a lead role in testing and evaluating products under direction of engineering staff. Performs all Engineering/Central Lab testing duties. In this position you will:

  • Implement Mechanical/Electrical Hardware/Software to include test setup of all equipment in use for prototype or production designs in test.
  • Read/interpret/communicate test setups, test specifications and test requirements. Communicate the test requirements to other lab technicians through instruction and documentation and or work instruction where appropriate.
  • Setup necessary test interface circuits for proper evaluation and test monitoring of active sensor designs.
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Read Engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and converse with team members to determine required outputs before beginning the requested test program.
  • Perform tests at specified product development stages, and test product characteristics such as dimensional, performance, mechanical, electrical or chemical in nature. Record test data for analysis and evaluation by Engineers.
  • Prepare graphs, charts or data in a professional manner for analysis and review.
  • Verify test setups and authorize engineering approval prior to testing.
  • Offer input to engineering with reference to previous test results, experience and scope of knowledge.
  • Make recommendations on methods and improvements to test procedures or products.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analysis from observations and results of experiments. Perform mathematical analysis and statistical computations as needed.
  • Support prototype development providing input to items such as DVP&R, test method, functional test capability and test standards.
  • Conduct performance, functional and reliability (DV/PV, ES) testing according to documented procedures. This pertains to all elements of the testing process, including setup of test and control software, performance of tests per procedures, accurate and thorough reporting and applicable analysis of test results, storage of test data and samples and notification of test status (pass/fail/deviated) to test requestor.
  • Assist with the evaluation of new test procedures when received from the test development group and make recommendations for improvement(s) after the evaluation.
  • Meet the requirements of the Concept to Customer (C to C) System.
  • Maintain compliance to current ISO standards, IATF 16949, customer specific requirements and Bourns product development processes as applicable. Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with High Performance teams, continuous improvement goals, and values of Bourns Automotive Division.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in Electronics and/or 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with operating LabView, EMC/ESD testing, environmental chambers, graphing and analytical ability to confirm/validate sensor behavior with expected behavior.
  • Experience with automotive sensor mechanical, electrical, vibration, environmental and chemical exposure testing.
  • Basic fabrication skills pertaining to test setups.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred.
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing.
  • High level of problem solving experience.
  • Ability to perform mathematical analysis and understand simple statistical computations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to trouble shoot complex electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Intermediate MS Office suite.

The Test Development Engineer position plans, designs, leads development, and evaluation of electronic test equipment, and systems for automotive sensing products

In this position you will:
  • Identify customer needs and develop test system designs to meet all applicable requirements.
  • Identify appropriate test and data acquisition technology and organize functional system development (including design, building, and testing) to verify, and release test system for DV and PV use.
  • Development of NI LabVIEW graphical programming-based software for the testing of electronic systems.
  • Selection of appropriate test system controls to meet design requirements.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation such as bills of material, test process flow, specifications, and other types of engineering documentation including test procedures, and usage manual, or work instruction.
  • Identify and resolve issues for test system development including; design, procurement, build, test, installation, and calibration of instruments, equipment, and control devices.
  • Review and identify changes to detailed drawing sets and specifications from system design concept stage through release for use at the component and assembly level. Ensure statistical analyses such as GR&R, to verify system conformance/capabilities are performed.
  • Perform test system failure analysis on new and existing test equipment and reports results.
  • Work with and/or direct Technicians and Designers in test system development activities.
  • Coordinate efforts with customer, and manufacturing engineering to provide necessary technical support for End-of-Line testing as required.
  • Interface with peers, technical resources outside of the company (university professors, etc.), vendors and customers.
  • Meet the requirements of the Concept to Customer (C to C) System.

This role has the following Accountabilities:

  • Organize the engineering team to provide manufacturing support for the Logan Ceramic Production Facility.
  • Mentor the engineering team in effective project organization.

  • The engineering team is to provide production support and optimization of all operations involved in the manufacture of ceramic products.
  • Individual area of responsibility is to focus on the production of spray dry powders and the final sintering of the ceramic product while providing the engineering support necessary to maintain production and quality levels and pursue continuous improvements.
  • Formally prepare and present monthly reports to management on the effectiveness and productivity of the engineering team.
  • Responsible for annual Performance Reviews of direct report engineers.
  • Guide the analysis of non-conforming product to determine causes and initiate corrective action.
  • Review and evaluate new methods, processes, and materials to optimize manufacturing.
  • Produce detailed technical instructions that provide clear and understandable support for manufacturing operations and preferred methods.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment failures and/or problems.
  • Review and evaluate new methods for cost reduction and improved product quality through automation and mechanization.
  • Justify and purchase capital equipment to achieve cost and quality goals.
  • Review Failure Analysis/Corrective Action Request initiate corrective action.
  • Must be willing to work in manufacturing environment.
Qualifications Needed:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing or Process Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science / Engineering, or equivalent and applicable education, experience and/or training.
  • Previous employment and work experience in ceramic production is highly desirable.
  • Preferred knowledge in the production processes of batching, spray drying, forming, and firing.
  • Must be familiar with statistical techniques such as SPC, Design of Experiments, and other Six Sigma Techniques.
  • Possess strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and is able to multitask and prioritize. Must have a strong work ethic and be culturally sensitive.
  • Must have excellent and effective communication skills, both orally and written.
This position is based in our Logan, Utah manufacturing plant.

The Assembly Packaging Engineer will provide project management, package design/development and sustaining support for semiconductor diode, power and surge protection assembly. Responsible for the thermal/mechanical/electrical design, analysis, and development of assembly packages.

Provides expertise on packaging performance and specification.

Establishes material specifications for contract assemblers and raw material vendors and interfaces with Product Engineering, Quality Assurance and Purchasing regarding material quality and subcontractor performance.

Provides consultation concerning packaging problems and improvements in the packaging process. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur.

Duties and Accountabilities
  • The Semiconductor Assembly Packaging engineer will be responsible for understanding the basic fundamentals and building blocks of the semiconductor packaging manufacturing process.
  • Provide Semiconductor Assembly expertise
  • Experienced in package design and familiar with Auto CAD.
  • Understanding of Jedec specs and background of Rel Test specs, CSAM, XRay, SEM, etc.
  • Understand assembly package design rules.
  • Optimise package lead frame designs
  • Define and qualify new assembly package flows, driving yield improvement.
  • Resolve technical problems with subcontract assembly sites.
  • Assures the proper, complete engineering documentation package to support successful new product launch or product/process implementation per ISO TS16949 standard or better.
  • Advise design groups on robust cost effective assembly techniques /processes.
  • Assembly technology interface between product, process and test engineering, purchasing and quality.
  • Solves chronic problems (quality, performance and cost) related to assembly processes using new materials, technologies, design, FMEA SPC, DOE or other techniques.
  • Keeps informed on trends and developments in assembly of diode, power and surge protection devices.
