Model PEC11D series offers a high reliability solution that addresses space constrained design requirements in a wide range of applications
RIVERSIDE, Calif., January 24, 2022 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, , today introduced a new 12mm dual concentric rotary encoder series that features two encoders in a single package. Bourns® Model PEC11D allows designers to specify a single encoder in applications that require the functionality of two encoders. With a high IP40 seal rating, a 15,000-rotation life rating and a –40 to +85 °C operating temperature, Bourns® Model PEC11D Series offers a high-reliability solution for a wide range of applications including professional audio and lighting, communications, test and measurement equipment, low/medium risk medical** diagnostic and laboratory equipment as well as for industrial automation controls.
Built with a metal bushing and metal dual concentric shaft, the new encoder series from Bourns features a two-bit quadrature output that allows for phase and direction information. This series also has a momentary push switch with a 20,000-cycle rated switch life and two switch options – high and standard stroke – in otherwise identical package dimensions. The switch options enable the encoder to adapt to individual customer needs and application environments.
"Bourns led the market more than 70 years ago with a breakthrough potentiometer design that helped enhance instrumentation capabilities. Our new dual concentric rotary encoders with switch are an example of the Company's ongoing commitment to developing innovative quality products with advanced features," said Alain Leon, Sensors Product Line Manager at Bourns. "This is our first dual concentric rotary encoder that has been specifically designed to meet today's board density requirements."
The Bourns® Model PEC11D encoder series is available now and is RoHS compliant*. For more detailed product information, please see: www.bourns.com/products/encoders/contacting-encoders
