The resistor option provides impedance matching, signal reflection prevention and enhances signal integrity in applications that employ Bourns® high-accuracy digital DC current sensors
RIVERSIDE, Calif., April 29, 2025 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, today announced that it is now offering its SSD Digital Current Sensor Series in both the CANbus and RS-485 versions with an internal 120 ohm (Ω) resistor option. With this new option, designers get additional impedance matching and signal reflection prevention benefits that aid in ensuring robust communication. Using the Bourns® SSD Digital Current Sensors with the resistor option assists in maintaining signal integrity, especially over longer distances and at higher speeds, while helping to prevent communication errors.
Bourns® SSD Digital Current Sensors offer superior accuracy, stability and electrical isolation over a wide - 40° C to +115° C operating temperature range even in certain harsh industrial and automotive environments. The series feature 1500 VDC reinforced galvanic isolation, a 16-bit +150 °C microcontroller, a 24-bit ADC with buffered analog inputs and ECC flash memory with autocorrect single-bit error capability. These advanced features make them excellent solutions for battery systems, renewable energy, motor drives and EV charging stations.
The new internal 120 Ω termination resistor option is constructed in the PCB of the sensor and is available now in nominal current values of 100A, 250A and 500A. The Bourns® SSD Digital Current Sensor series is RoHS* compliant. For more detailed product information, please see: bourns.com/products/sensors/current-sensors.
