Offering a highly-efficient overvoltage barrier solution, Bourns® Model 2510 and 2520 Series SPDs deliver both coarse (1st stage) and fine (2nd stage) protection
RIVERSIDE, Calif., November 29, 2023 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, today introduced its Model 2510 and 2520 Series Data and Signal Surge Protective Devices (SPDs). The new DIN-Rail pluggable surge protectors offer a comprehensive solution to safeguard 1-pair and 2-pair data lines from damaging voltage surges and spikes. These robust protectors feature a two-stage protection scheme that utilizes Gas Discharge Tubes (GDTs) and fast bidirectional Silicon Avalanche Diodes (SADs) to provide both coarse and fine protection. This coordinated solution approach is ideal for a broad range of sensitive applications, including RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 interfaces, low-voltage alarm circuits, high-frequency transmission systems, analog/digital communications and telecommunication equipment.
Bourns' new data and signal SPDs comply with UL 497B and IEC 61643-21, category D1/C1/C2/C3 standards. The Model 2510 and 2520 Series provide a maximum discharge current rating of 20 kA (8/20 µs) and are available in a range of service voltages to suit diverse applications, offering the flexibility to protect valuable equipment. Their pluggable design simplifies installation and maintenance, thereby helping to minimize downtime and maximize equipment productivity.
Bourns® Model 2510 and 2520 Series data and signal SPDs are available now and are RoHS* compliant. For detailed product information, please visit: www.bourns.com/resources/rohs/surge-protective-devices/signal-and-data-line-surge-protective-devices.
