today announced the company is celebrating its 75th anniversary as a global leader, trusted innovator and certified manufacturer of a wide range of advanced products that are used in thousands of electronics industry applications. Headquartered in Riverside, California, Bourns has a growing global presence with
17 manufacturing centers around the world. In addition, Bourns has continued to expand through strategic acquisitions and start-up initiatives that have resulted in an industry-leading components portfolio of greater than 21 different product lines.
Bourns was founded in 1947 by Marlan and Rosemary Bourns, who started their company in their garage with their innovative aerospace sensors, followed in 1952 by the Trimpot® trimming potentiometer that solved a critical aeronautic need for accurate
circuit adjustments. Their inventive spirit and dedication to excellence is still strong today where Bourns now holds more than 400 patents. Customers rely on Bourns circuit protection, circuit conditioning and motion control products as well as a
