In this role you will be the primary point of contact for providing Trimpot Product technical information and service to customers, sales representatives, distributors and Bourns sales personnel. This role is the focal point for customer and part specific knowledge. You must understand the requirements for specification review, special orders and quality/corrective action requests. This role also assists Product Line Management in coordinating forecasts, product life cycle, and planning.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Serves as liaison to customers, sales personnel and engineering for all product technical questions and applications for Trimpot® Products.
  2. Reviews customer requirements and drawings or specifications to determine the appropriate standard product that will meet the required performance characteristics, package configuration, or requirements of the customer.
  3. In coordination with sales, completes appropriate discovery including technical and all commercial aspects to recommend a special, non-standard part number. Responsible for all aspects of the Customer Engineering Inquiries (C.I.). Responsible for the Technical Number Assignment (TNA) for the nonstandard part.
  4. Assists or Initiates Quality Corrective Action Requests. Responsible for timely answer to the customer. Tracks all CAR's for analysis of problems and issues. Recommends and works with factories to prioritize the quality issues. Monitors Quality Corrective Action Requests on quality questions, and coordinates reports results to customer, sales representative, or Regional Sales office as appropriate.
  5. Communicates information to Product Manager to aid in the development of Marketing/Engineering product plans and updates. Through an understanding of customer needs, or problems, or competitive information, recommends new product ideas.
  6. Responsible for maintaining and publishing all competitive updates, cross-references and technical evaluations that are used as sales tools. Coordinates with Marcom for production of and release of selling tools.
  7. Responsible for preparation and review of technical data for use in product data sheets, product advertising, sales promotion, field training materials, product introductions and any technical aspect of a sales proposals. Keeps all data up to date and verifies published data is correct.
  8. Responsible for the SAP maintenance tasks assigned to the marketing function in the areas of documentation as it pertains to customer drawing records (CDR's), customer part numbers and other customer related issues.
  9. Assists in the administration of samples.
  10. Completes monthly report information, as determined by PLM.
  11. Understands all test requirements and procedures for Trimpot® products, including industry standards.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Needed:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years relevant work experience in the automotive market, preferably in sensors and electronics technology. Experience in automotive sales with a proven history in successful sales growth and prospecting.
  • Must have a team selling approach to the job. Must be familiar with Strategic Selling concept and able to put it into action.
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in use of networking/prospecting programs like: LinkedIn, Spoke, Jigsaw, data.com.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point is a must.

  • Lead and manage programs from concept through the life of the project using the company C to C process. Specific responsibilities within the process are:
    • Arrange Gate Review Meetings and document the results.
    • Organize sub-task meetings to support the Gate reviews.
    • Coordinate and communicate project requirements.
    • Document Executive Summary updates.
    • Document and manage Macro Product Launch Timelines.
    • Facilitate Product Cost Estimates and document updates in coordination with the Product Line Manager.
    • Facilitate Financial Summaries and document updates.
    • Facilitate Program comparisons of Actual VS Quoted.
    • Track and document Program Status.
  • Maintain all pertinent records for items described above as required by company procedures.
  • Coordinate information flow with respect to program/product changes between the customer, sales, product development, purchasing, operations, and Product Line Manager.
  • Support Business Reviews and Customer Technical reviews as required.
  • Perform detailed evaluation of program opportunities outlining all potential external risks and opportunities and communicate to the appropriate management team.
  • Communicate program concerns as deemed necessary (technical, financial, resource, timing, etc.) to the management team.
  • Monitor program performance metrics and support Continual Improvement efforts as well as Product and Process changes.
  • Maintain compliance to current ISO standards, IATF 16949 and customer specific requirements as applicable. Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with High Performance teams, continuous improvement goals, and values of Bourns Automotive Division.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing of automotive electro-mechanical products preferred.
  • High level of problem-solving experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to generate product costing.
  • Intermediate MS Office suite.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, organize and prioritize work-load crucial.
  • Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional and geographically diverse teams to achieve objectives. Has excellent team building skills and knows how to effectively engage others throughout the organization
  • Ability to travel domestic and/or international as needed.

This role has the following accountabilities:
  • Internal inspections; assist inspectors from various agencies (City, State and Federal).
  • Conducts periodic materials inventory and maintains records; prepares required reports.
  • Conducts and coordinates training for hazardous materials, environmental/safety. management topics e.g., Hazard communication, first aid/CPR, lockout/tagout, forklift training.

  • As the Chairperson of the Plant Safety Committee schedule and lead the regular Committee meetings, prepare and publish meeting minutes, and ensure Safety Committee responsibilities are met.
  • 11. Secures and updates Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals used in facility.
  • Maintains all records for EHS programs.
  • Stays current on all EHS regulations affecting Logan operations.
  • Maintains the facility security and fire warning system with company provider and control the interface and administrative lists.
  • Maintains and control employee identification, entry, and time system interface cards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
