RIVERSIDE, Calif., February 13, 2018 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, delivers critical components that provide essential protection for consumer batteries and automotive battery management systems. At the upcoming Battery Japan 2018 show, Bourns will introduce its latest series of high current mini-breaker thermal cutoff (TCO) products designed to provide superior overtemperature and overcurrent protection for notebook and tablet PC battery cells. In addition, Bourns will showcase its surface mount TCO device that helps battery pack suppliers greatly reduce lead times and assembly costs. These latest developments add to Bourns' already broad line-up of circuit protection technologies proven to help designers meet today's challenging battery protection requirements.
Bourns will also present its wide range of power electronic components that form the building blocks for automotive battery management systems. These include:
- Customized power magnetics for isolation / filtering
- Signal magnetics for common mode noise rejection
- Ultra-low ohmic current sense resistors for shunt-based measurement up to 1000 A
- High-current bidirectional TVS diodes for high-power DC bus clamping applications
- Overcurrent protection devices such as polymer PTC resettable fuses and SinglFuse™ thin film chip fuses
