In this role, you will focus on an assigned territory of Los Angeles and Orange County for the sale of Bourns products. Taking ownership of the overall business development within the assigned territory to include managing local Manufacturer's Representative and Distributors to: develop existing component sales business and executive level client relationships; uncover new opportunities; develop new solutions; overall increase sales leading to profit growth. This person drives and owns short and long-term sales plans for the Region. This position reports directly to the Southwest Sales Manager. This role is based in Riverside, CA.

The successful candidate will own and possess the drive to:

  • Grow Bourns sales for the assigned region to meet and exceed revenue quota. Assist customers in adopting Bourns products into their designs. Drives Design In and Design Wins at customers.
  • Manages and works with local Manufacturers' Representative and Distributors to drive sales discovery and Demand Creation
  • Coordinates Bourns contacts at the customers; primary interface and coordinator for all Bourns functions i.e. Field Application Engineer (FAE), Market Director (MD) and Product Line Manager (PLM) with Application Engineers (AE).
  • Proactively follows up on projects and ensures CRM project status is up to date.
  • Makes an optimum number of face to face sales calls to engineering, procurement and other related departments for the purpose of product presentations, pursuing information and obtaining sales orders. Acquires comprehensive knowledge of all customer personnel and products.
  • Develop strategic sales and account plans based on industry trends and customer analysis. Ensure territory plans are aligned and updated quarterly. Provide monthly written report to Sales Manager on Sales Achievement, customer project status, etc
  • Own local customer annual RFQ and contract negotiation in cooperation with Marketing Directors/VP, Product Line Managers (PLMs) and local Customer Service (CS) team for pricing. Maximize the award allocation to gain max actual shipments.
  • Optimize ongoing logistics and supply chain topics in cooperation with PLMs, Customer Service and logistic functions.
  • Supports the Product Lines and different quality functions in quality resolution mainly as communicator and sometimes a proactive driver or even owner.
  • Plan and demonstrate a detailed understanding of both the customers' sector and business drivers/challenges. Understand solutions selling/challenger sales methodology and tools and apply these regularly.
  • Own the set up and negotiation of an NDA or customer contract in cooperation with the contracts team or Legal and the Business Unit.
  • Complies with all company policies, instructions, and directives for the fulfilment of the company objectives and for maximum profitable sales.
  • Attends and participates in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, sales contests, and trade shows as directed.
  • Presents a professional demeanor and image to the customer and within Bourns.
  • Turns in online expense reports on time and uses funds properly.
  • Performs other related duties as required. Own and achieve the assigned local or regional design, and production/purchasing sites to achieve/maximize revenue quota.

Our Credit & Collections Analyst is responsible for minimizing bad debt risk and maximizing accounts receivable collections. The Credit & Collections Analyst supports the staff members expediting of collections and maintenance of receivables to provide improved cash flow. The Credit & Collections Analyst is responsible for understanding contracts in regard to how they apply and affect each account in resolution of disputes. The successful candidate will have the following accountabilities:

  1. Identify potential bad debt and/or delinquent accounts through knowledgeable research, analysis and gathering of pertinent information.
  2. Analyze credit and financial reports to determine risk for extending credit while minimizing bad debt risk and maximizing accounts receivable collections.
  3. Provide support to local and global staff on complex issues such as research investigations, account reconciliations, disputed items with customers.

In this role, you will provide technical services to support the strategic growth plans for Bourns' Communication Division and Circuit Protection applications. You will provide design details, fabricate needed components, perform lab experiments, and record and summarize test data.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Write, maintain and follow laboratory SAFETY procedures. The laboratory uses high voltage and potentially lethal lightning surge simulation and other high voltage test equipment.
  2. See that all laboratory activities (by self, employees or visitors) are in compliance with the SAFETY procedures.
  3. Provide detail designs for prototype product assemblies, tools, fixtures and PCBs. This may include CAD detail work and converting CAD drawings to CNC and 3D printer program files.
  4. Fabricate needed prototype product components, assemblies, tools, fixtures and populate PCBs. This will include the using the machines detailed in the list below.
  5. Lay out PCBs from schematic diagrams and work with PCB vendors to procure boards.
  6. Configure and arrange needed lab equipment for testing.
  7. Schedules and performs tests on prototypes, customer products, competitive products, experimental circuits and existing products.
  8. Provides test results and statistical summaries for the requesting engineers or other internal customers.
Qualifications Needed:
  • High school diploma plus two years of college or technical school training in electronics.
Must have minimum of 2 years of experience and have skills in the following areas:
  • Knowledge of electronic components, circuit analysis, and hands-on PC board-level experience
  • Familiarity with laboratory electronic test equipment
  • Basic electronic circuit analysis and trouble-shooting skills.

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of payroll including payroll processing, payroll tax filings, payroll tax remittances and recording, and reporting financial data as required by established Corporate policies and procedures, as well as performing a variety of duties related to general accounting and financial reporting. Provides timely and accurate response to employee and management payroll-related questions.

This position is based at our Worldwide Corporate Headquarters in Riverside, California. This role reports directly to the Corporate Controller.

The successful candidate will have the following accountabilities:

  1. Computes, processes and controls payroll to ensure paychecks are prepared correctly and established payroll procedures are followed.
  2. Maintains internal controls in the payroll system.
  3. Administers policies and procedures related to payroll, including maintaining a payroll processing manual, modifying existing forms and records, recommending changes as necessary to keep payroll activities current with company needs and legal requirements.
  4. Interfaces with the Human Resources and Information Technology departments in order to ensure continued processing and maintenance of electronic payroll systems to include on-site training for procedures and controls.

In this role, you will be a global team leader responsible for developing, implementing and managing strategic pricing processes to achieve targeted sales revenue and margin improvement goals for electronic components in Industrial, Communications, Consumer and Automotive markets. This position reports directly to the Market Division Vice President. This role is based in Riverside, CA.

The successful candidate will own and possess the drive to:

  1. Develop global strategic pricing capabilities:

  3. Travel occasionally domestically and internationally.

Our Engineering Organization is growing and we have an opportunity for a Field Application Engineer to join our China team located in Shanghai/ Shenzhen. In this position you will:

  1. Provide technical and design assistance to Bourns Consumer segment OEMs located in China
  2. Identify and specify new product opportunities to drive new product development in Engineering
  3. Create demand for Bourns electronic components and solutions
  4. Provide market intelligence, directions and trends based on direct contacts with customer OEMs
The successful candidate will drive and be accountable for:
  1. Responsible for the activities to achieve design-Ins (qualification of Bourns solutions):
    • Engage in direct customer contact at key customers and focus accounts.
    • Identify and focus on opportunities with high ROI.
    • Develop solutions meeting technical specifications and commercial requirements.
    • Coordinate with local Sales Managers
    • Sort through customer technical issues to determine correct solution selection, quality issues, etc. and engage proper product line resources to get issues resolved.
    • Select appropriate application block diagrams from previous use or generate new ones as needed to foster total solution sales.
    • Work through Marcom to develop technical sales collateral material
    • Support sales activities to specify and procure custom samples or required testing and reports.
    • Provide training to Sales and distribution channel partners. This may include preparing and presenting technical information at conferences and trade shows.
    • Publish technical papers in trade magazines and other vehicles.
    • Actively seek to improve the technical understanding of our customer’s applications.
  2. Activities to Facilitate New Product Development:
    • Identify gaps in the Bourns product portfolio by understanding customer needs at new and existing customers.
    • Communicate New Product ideas to Product Management and Engineering via new specifications, sketches, etc.
    • Participate in New Product Development as the technical liaison between the development team and the customer from identification to qualification and production.
    • Participate in Regulatory & Standards meetings as directed by management.
    • Attend trade shows as directed by management.
    • Collect and disseminate market intelligence relating to
      • Competition behavior, activities and product releases;
      • Marketplace trends and developments;
      • Regulatory changes that may impact our business;
      • New competitors or customers;
      • Defining the characteristics of the products which best meet the demands of the marketplace regarding price, performance, and packaging.
  3. Other Activities:
    • Monthly Design-In and customer activity reporting.
    • CRM activity logging.
    • Assist management in preparation of sales support program strategies including collateral material, promotions, sales training programs, press release coordination and sample kits.
    • Assist management in the preparation of annual sales and manufacturing plans.
  4. Execution of the Bourns Counselor Sales Process.
  5. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Needed:
  • B.S. in Engineering; MS or MBA preferred.
  • Ability to make effective technical presentations and good technical/market knowledge is required to influence and advise Bourns customers in their selection process of Bourns solutions.
  • Capability of developing strong relationships with the engineering staffs at our customers.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to make effective technical presentations.
