Bourns' shielded power inductor model extension is developed for use with Texas Instruments’ Model BQ25638/BQ25638D battery chargers
RIVERSIDE, Calif., January 4, 2023 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, today announced a compact, low profile form factor product extension to its Model SRP3212 Series high current shielded power inductor family. Bourns® Model SRP3212-1R0MR21 Mini-molding High Current Shielded Power Inductor measures 3.2 x 2.5 x 1 mm and is manufactured with a metal alloy powder core and shielded construction featuring high saturation currents, high heating currents, and low magnetic field radiation. This model is developed for use and is part of a reference design with Texas Instruments' Model BQ25638/BQ25638D battery chargers.
Due to its flat wire construction that improves efficiency, this new model offers a significant reduction in DCR compared to other similarly-sized power inductors that use conventional wire. Offering an operating temperature range of -40 to +125 °C, and combined with its compact footprint, low magnetic field radiation, high saturation currents and high heating currents, the Model SRP3212-1R0MR21 inductor is well-suited for use in DC-DC converters and consumer electronics.
The Bourns® Model SRP3212-1R0MR21 Compact Size High Current Shielded Power Inductors are available now, and are RoHS compliant* and halogen free**. For more detailed product information, please see: www.bourns.com/products/magnetic-products/power-inductors-smd-high-current-shielded.
*RoHS Directive 2015/863, Mar 31, 2015 and Annex.
**Bourns considers a product to be "halogen free" if (a) the Bromine (Br) content is 900 ppm or less; (b) the Chlorine (Cl) content is 900 ppm or less; and (c) the total Bromine (Br) and Chlorine (Cl) content is 1500 ppm or less.
