Bourns Automotive has a range of experience developing, manufacturing, and distributing highly reliable AEC-Q compliant components.
All Bourns® standard components approved for typical automotive applications, such as suppressors, inductors, diodes, resettable fuses, resistors, HSPs, and varistors, are manufactured in IATF 16949 certified facilities and have been tested and qualified using the AEC-Q product validation standard for passive components, and presented to the customer for selection and approval using PPAP. Customers may also access Bourns' application testing lab.
Bourns® standard automotive grade components are created and developed to fulfill the following criteria: compliance with the most recent AEC-Q200, AEC-Q101, or AEC-Q102 product validation standard; and the development of new products and processes fulfills or exceeds the standards outlined in the most recent AIAG revision of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process. The manufacturing facilities have a VDA 6.3 process audit score of more than 80 % with no downgrades; The manufacturing plant (Bourns or a third-party subcontractor) that produces the standard Bourns® components must be IATF 16949 certified.
