Distribution Sales Manager – The Americas

We currently seek a Distribution Sales Manager for the Americas region who can manage, motivate and direct the activities of the Distribution network. In this position you will:

Assess the customer base of each distributor and develop programs to match Bourns products with market segment programs.
Understand the distributor organization and provide input to Bourns Management.
Assess the training needs of the distribution teams and coordinate with Bourns business units and marketing teams to develop appropriate programs.
Understand Bourns’ and distributors’ marketing strategies and develop appropriate programs to leverage each company’s strengths.
Manage and direct the activities of the Manufacturer Representative Distributor Sales Managers at the branch level.

Requirements: The successful candidate will have, as a minimum a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited four-year college or university, plus:

5+ years’ experience in a sales management/supervisory role, with the ability to lead people and get results through others; 5+ years’ experience in Distribution Sales Management (Corporate/POA and Branch/POS); and 10+ years sales experience in the Electronic Components (Interconnect, Passive and Electromechanical) and Technical Solutions Industry.
First-hand knowledge of North and South American based OEM accounts, EMS, Distributors and Reps.
Excellent people and relationship building skills, effective coaching and mentoring skills; an asset and a resource to Distributors and Reps in dealing with customers. Field Applications Engineer – Market Analyst

We currently seek a senior field applications engineer with expertise in market analysis to make a significant contribution to growth and profit in our Industrial/Military/Aerospace market segment. In this position you will:

In this position you will:

Serve as a true business partner to business segment general managers, providing them with business analyses, guidelines and counsel designed to enhance profitability and meet product-line financial goals
Implement and maintain appropriate financial and accounting systems and controls, and provide accurate and timely results of operations

The successful candidate will have a minimum BS/BA in accounting or finance, an MBA and CPA certification, significant experience as a controller at the manufacturing plant level, and prior experience in a public accounting environment. A high level knowledge of SAP or other major ERP, and applicable data warehouse software, would be beneficial to access and analyze information in an offsite multi-plant environment.

Technical Sales Manager – Northern California

We currently seek a Technical Sales Manager in the Northern California Area who can motivate the sales resources in the territory and provide leadership in the region that inspires a winning “Get the Order” attitude. In this position you will:

Ensure that all sales resources are sufficiently trained on Bourns products and provide technical support as needed to assist in selling Bourns Solutions to the customer base.
Develop and implement action plans to grow new product sales or achieve greater penetration of specific product lines.
Maximize Bourns sales at assigned accounts, manage key global accounts (US and Asia), and coordinate out of territory activity on assigned accounts.
In collaboration with market segment principals, establish strategy on all major customer contracts and/or negotiations and assume complete responsibility for the negotiation.

Requirements:

Field Application Engineer – Central Europe / DACH (m/f) Consumer Market Segment

We are seeking a candidate to provide technical support to customers and sales team members for existing and new programs. Bourns® broad product portfolio, including Trimmers, Fixed Resistors, Magnetics, Circuit Protection devices and Sensors & Controls, provides tremendous flexibility in solving customer application problems.

Based in Europe (München/Germany (preferred) or home office close to a major airport at the choice of the job incumbent) with a manageable level of travel, this position will provide an opportunity to work with some of the largest consumer, medical, instrumentation and automotive companies to help develop and deliver cutting-edge solutions.
As part of a global team the role will provide expert technical support to existing and new customers as well as working with the R&D / Product Development teams to define, specify and contribute to follow-on products and next generation devices.
Your Responsibilities

Create and assist in securing design wins by working with Marketing and the Sales team to identify opportunities at new and existing customers in Central Europe (mainly the German speaking countries).

Field Application Engineer – Telecom Business Unit – Germany

We are seeking a candidate to create demand and provide technical and design assistance to Telecom/Datacom OEM customers located in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland. Identify and specify new product opportunities to drive new products into Product Engineering including the identification of market trends that may impact our business.

Based in Europe (Sauerlach/Germany) with extensive travel (>50%), this position will provide an opportunity to work with some of the largest telecom companies to help develop and deliver cutting-edge solutions. As part of a global team the role will provide expert technical support to existing and new customers as well as working with the R&D/Product Development teams to define, specify and contribute to follow-on products and next generation devices.

Your Responsibilities

Activities to achieve design-Ins (qualification of Bourns solutions):

Engage in direct customer contact at key customers and focus accounts.
Sort through customer technical issues to determine correct solution selection, quality issues, etc. and engage proper product line resources to get issues resolved.
Support sales activities to specify and procure custom samples or required testing and reports.
Provide training to RSM’s, representative firms and distribution channel partners. This may include preparing and presenting technical information at conferences and trade shows.
Publish technical papers in trade magazines and other vehicles.
Actively seek to improve the technical understanding of our customer’s applications.

Activities to Facilitate New Product Development:

Identify gaps in the Bourns product portfolio by understanding customer needs at new and existing customers.

Your Profile

MSEE degree and a strong electronic design background.
Ability to make technical presentations plus technical and market knowledge to influence and advise customers.
Experience in board-level design. Telecom/Datacom design experience is a plus.
Detailed knowledge of assigned market’s design platforms and applications is essential. Semiconductor application support experience is a plus.
Strong background in analog electronics is required. Experience in Circuit Protection solutions will be a significant advantage.
Knowledge of Telecom/Datacom market industry safety and performance standards (e.g. Telcordia, IEEE) is essential.

Your Responsibilities

Creation and tracking of Safety Project Plans for development programs, and the timely escalation of safety related issues within the safety management, project team and development organization.
Creation and tracking of Safety Verification Plans for development programs, and checking of the validation results.
Define safety concepts for new products.
Creation and review of functional safety analyses including FTA, FMEDA, CCA, Interface Analysis, SW FMEA, etc.
Communication with customer for all functional safety topics including planning, reporting and issue resolution.
Review of safety case documentation for series production.
Teamwork with other members of the development organization and other teams within Bourns.
Meet the requirements of the Bourns Internal Concept to Customer (C to C) System.

This exciting and challenging position is a key role for the continued and future success of the Telecom Division of Bourns.

A key member of the Telecom Division's Executive Staff and reporting directly to the Telecom Division General Manager, the Product Line Manager (PLM) is responsible for developing a Strategic Plan for the Semiconductors Product Lines in accordance with the Market Segment Strategies of Bourns and the Company's ambitious revenue and profit growth objectives. This includes in particular the definition of detailed Marketing (product and services, positioning, Go-to-Market...), Manufacturing and Acquisition Strategies, as well as resource planning.

Managing the Factory Application and Product Line Marketing Teams, the PLM organizes the deployment of the Product Line Strategy, in collaboration with the Market Segment Teams, the Engineering and Operations Team, the Division GM, suppliers and Channel Partners. This entails prioritization, scheduling and tracking of development projects, product introductions, and the addition of Products or product lines organically or through acquisition.

Responsible for the P&L of $50 million pa Product Lines, the PLM will develop, monitor and act on business and product development metrics to ensure that strategic and tactical objectives are met or exceeded. The PLM is responsible for the short term and long term financial planning of the Product Lines. Position Requirements: BS/technical degree from an accredited four-year college or university is mandatory. Graduate work in Business Administration with an emphasis on Marketing is desirable. Diversified experience in the disciplines of engineering, marketing, technical, sales, product management and program management is essential.

Financial acumen required, along with the ability to demonstrate the potential to grow into future roles with increasing responsibilities.

The candidate must possess a combination of advanced strategic skills acquired in similar position(s), as well as excellent attention to detail, accountability and sense of urgency.
